ABOUT THE JOURNAL

More than getting accepted.

The transition to college can bring new expectations, responsibilities, relationships, decisions, and questions about identity and independence.

The College Transition Journal was created to give students space to pause, reflect, prepare, and think intentionally about what this next season may require.

Designed for first-time college students and students transferring to a new campus, the journal can also support the families, counselors, schools, college-access programs, and organizations walking alongside them.

SUMMER COLLEGE TRANSITION EXPERIENCE

Ready, Set, College!

Because getting into college is only part of the transition.

Ready, Set, College! is a summer college-transition experience for graduating high school seniors and incoming college students preparing for what comes after acceptance.

The program creates space to talk about the parts of college preparation that can be easy to overlook: adjusting to greater independence, navigating new expectations, managing stress, building support, understanding yourself, and preparing for the changes that come with a new environment and season of life.

Participants receive The College Transition Journal as part of the experience and use it alongside guided conversations, reflection, and practical activities throughout the program.

The goal isn’t to make students feel like they have to have college completely figured out before they arrive. It’s to help them enter the transition with greater awareness of themselves, what may be ahead, and the support and strategies they may need along the way.

The College Transition Journal is included with the Ready, Set, College! experience.

OFFERED SEASONALLY DURING THE SUMMER

“Preparing for college isn’t only about where you’re going. It’s also about understanding what the transition may require of you once you get there.”

Start where you are.

Whether you’re preparing for college yourself, supporting a student you love, or helping a group of students navigate what comes next, The College Transition Journal was created to make space for reflection, preparation, and more intentional conversations about the transition ahead.
